Day 16 – 0ctober 23th 10 hours instead of 24 years

Today is the day that I have to write a bit in English. That’s because Ann’s friend from earlier times came to visit us. It was Debby whom Ann met 25 years ago when she was that little angel who could play basketball in the Netherlands. Debby’s dad was staged that time in Germany for the American airforce. Ann went to Debby’s house in Florida when they were transferred back to the USA 24 years ago and they lost contact a little while later.

Two week before we went on this trip Ann told me she wanted to see Debb very badly. So where is the world without Internet and especially google. NOWHERE.
After a search of 15 minutes Ann was talking wit Deb’s mam and 15 minutes later she was calling with Deb and so the contact started again. During this trip we mailed somewhere around and today she would come and visit us. Around 11.30 in the morning Deb arrived with her Yellow Mini Cooper at the parkingplace and I picked her up from the lobby. I had never seen her before but we recognized eachother right away. And the reunion from Ann and Deb I won’t ever forget. GREAT. They found each other again.

We went to our room and spoke for an hour about what we all have done the last 24 years and that was much hihi . And like 24 years ago they kept on talking and talking and laughing and laughing.

After that we went by bus (how was it Deb) to downtown Philly where we passed along for a few hours and had a little starbucklunch (coffee and chocolate cake) and diner in town.

We made a trip by carriage and were lead by a horse named Tom. He took us through oldtown Philly what was pleasant either.

We visited the Liberty Bell and the Betsy Ross musea and Constitution Hall. Around 07.00 pm we went back to our hotel because it was a nice day and we walked very much so Ann needed to give her legs some rest. Then we went down to the sportsbar where we talked and talked again but it was great.

Around 10 pm debby stept in her car again because she still had to drive 2 hours before she would be back in Baltimore again. We made a deal that the next time we would meet would be in Baltimore and it wouldn’t take that long as the last time.

We just received her email so she’s got a save trip back home and we’re happy to hear that.

Debby it was great to meet you and for Anneke it was great to see ya back again after such a long time.
Oh yeah btw you both went a bit older.

For the dutchies who read this. Tomorrow I will write in dutch again
We’re going to get some sleep now and after breakfast we will went in to Philly again to make a tour by bus through the city and maybe do some shoppings again because it will be our last whole day in the USA for this time.

It was great till now and we hope that the last day and our flight back home will be either.
